The valuation takes judgement; the copying and pasting does not
Why the data behind a report should arrive in the shape your template already expects.
Propalt Team · For surveyors
Ask a surveyor where the report hours actually go, and a surprising share of them are not spent on judgement at all. They are spent moving data: property attributes from one source, comparables from another, tenure from a third, each opened in its own tab, copied across and reformatted to fit the practice template. It is careful work, and it is exactly the kind of careful work that introduces transcription errors while adding nothing a client would pay for.
None of this means the report can be automated. It cannot, and it should not be. The analysis, the adjustments and the opinion of value are the surveyor's work and belong to the surveyor. The point is narrower: the data assembly that surrounds that work does not need six tabs and a clipboard. It needs to arrive already structured.
One request instead of six tabs
This skill returns the property and comparable data for an instruction as structured output that maps to the practice's existing template or case management system. The property attributes and the comparable set come back together, in fields your template can take directly, so the schedule and the property section populate from a single request rather than a morning of copying.
The gain is not only speed. Every manual transfer is a chance to mistype a floor area or a sold price, and a comparable schedule with a transcription error in it is worse than useless in a review. Data that flows from source into the template without a manual retype removes that class of error entirely.
| Report section (illustrative) | Populated from |
|---|---|
| Property attributes | get_property |
| Comparable schedule | get_comparable |
| Sold prices and dates | HM Land Registry |
| Reformatting required | None |
The mapping above is illustrative. The principle is that the output is structured for your template from the start, so the surveyor opens a populated draft rather than an empty one.
Time returned to the part that matters
When the data arrives report-ready, the hours saved do not disappear. They move to the work that carries the professional risk and the professional value: the analysis, the comparison, the reasoning behind the figure. A report that starts from a populated, consistent base is a report where the surveyor's attention sits on judgement rather than on formatting, which is where a Red Book valuation earns its fee.
The client is paying for the opinion of value, not for the retyping that used to precede it.
Let the data assemble itself, and spend the recovered time where it counts.
One request, straight into the template.
